    How do I allow credit on a Customer account?

    If you'd like to allow a customer to purchase items using credit, to then pay off their bill later, first you must give the customer a credit limit.

    1) In the Back Office main menu, click on Customers, then Customers again.

     

    2) Find the customer in question and double-click on them to open their customer record:

     

    3) Click on the Account Transactions tab.

    4) Choose the type of credit account you'd like to give them from the dropdown.

     

    Setting up Account Types

    If the only option in your dropdown is None, you'll need to set up at least one account type. There's a link under the dropdown to take you to the Account Types page in the Back Office, and we've got a guide on how to set up Account Types here.

    You must be an Administrator user to create Account Types.

     

     

    You'll be asked if you want to give the customer the default credit limit for that account type – click Yes to use the default, or No to enter a different amount.

     

    You can edit this credit limit at any time.

    5) Click Save Pending Changes in the bottom right of the screen to complete your changes.
