When customers pay by card, often the card terminal will automatically print out the Merchant Copy and Cardholder Copy receipts from your Star receipt printer, even if you opted not to print a 40-Col receipt. We've added in an option to turn this off for CitrusPay and WorldPay card terminals, to save you some till roll!
N.B. for Aurora and Paymentsense card terminals, the receipts print directly from the terminal, so the settings to configure receipt printing can be found on the terminal itself, rather than in the Back Office. This also applies to non-integrated card machines.
Turning off automatic card receipt printing
- In the Back Office, open the side menu and click on Setup, then Registers.
- Choose the register/till you want this setting to apply to.

- Find the Print Card Receipts via Star Cloud Printers option and untick the box.

- Click on Save Pending Change in the bottom right (or use Ctrl + S) to save your settings.

- If you have more than one cash register/till, you'll need to follow the steps above for each one.
Does this affect the 40-Col receipt?
No, the 40-Col receipt for the transaction will still print out, as long as you chose to 'Print customer receipt?' when tendering the transaction. Or equally, if you turned off ‘Print customer receipt?’ when tendering the transaction, the 40-Col receipt won't print out. In both cases, the 40-Col receipt will be available to view and reprint from the ‘Receipt Journal’ and the ‘Transactions’ page.
What if the customer wants their cardholder receipt?
The Merchant and Cardholder receipts will still be created and stored in the 'Receipt Journal' – you can view them and print them from there.
