Cloud POS // What's in the October 2024 release?

We are updating Cloud POS. Here are the details of what is included in this release:

Reprint Last Receipt from Transaction Summary *Requested by users via our Feedback Forum*

You can now quickly print the 40-Col receipt from the transaction summary. This allows for easy duplication of receipts when needed, or quickly printing a receipt when a customer might change their mind about wanting a receipt.

Print Labels for Assembly Items  *Requested by users via our Feedback Forum*

It’s now possible to print labels for assembly items, enabling faster scanning and processing of these items in the POS. This speeds up the process of adding items to transactions.

Ecommerce Refund Confirmation  *Requested by users via our Feedback Forum*

We’re incorporating a confirmation prompting in the POS to prevent refunds from being given accidentally. Previously, it was too easy to click the ‘Yes’ button on an Ecommerce refund. Now, users must enter the refund tender name before confirming the refund.

Background Work for New Back Office 2.0

Building on the successful launch of POS 2.0, our focus has now shifted to developing Back Office 2.0. We're working on a complete overhaul of the user interface, making it faster, more intuitive, and highly responsive. While there are no visible changes in this release, substantial progress is being made behind the scenes.

    Back Office General

    Improvements

    • The character limit for serial numbers has been expanded to 30.
    • Performance improvements have been made to Ecommerce stock uploads after a stock take.
    • The cost uploaded to the Ecommerce platform will now consider all locations, rather than just the main location, ensuring that cost calculations for both matrix and regular items are more comprehensive and aligned with the data across all stores.
    • All fields labelled as "County" for U.S. customers have been renamed to “State”.
    • Background configurations have been optimised to reduce unnecessary error logs.

    Bug Fixes

    • For tax-exclusive groups, the total in the customer orders grid now correctly includes tax.
    • The Xero URL on the configuration page has been updated to the correct link.
    • When orders are transferred between stores, tax calculations will now adjust correctly.

    • When there is no data to show in grids, we will now indicate that there is no data for clarity.
    • A new dialogue explains that serial numbers are cleared when a transaction is converted to an order or saved. Users can opt to add these serial numbers to comments for future reference.
    • Outstanding customer receivables will now be displayed in chronological order, making it easier to track payments.
    • Display and overall performance improvements to item and customer grids in the POS, enhancing speed and responsiveness.

    • Transfers will no longer record tax in U.S. groups to ensure correct accounting.

    SIM

    • A background task has been added to identify additional SIM suppliers for existing items in U.S. retailers’ records, adding them where required.

      • Jobs incorrectly scheduled as 'all-day jobs' across the entire week.
