We are updating Cloud POS. Here are the details of what to expect in this release:
Cloud POS 2.0
We are excited to say that Cloud POS 2.0 development is now complete, which marks a significant milestone in our development journey. In this release, and throughout 2023, we've undertaken a comprehensive redesign of the POS user interface (UI). The result is a more intuitive, user-friendly, visually appealing, and responsive UI that adapts seamlessly to various screen sizes.
The final stages of testing are currently underway, with the initial beta testing phase scheduled to kick off shortly after the October release. Stay tuned for more updates and information.
For the time being, users will continue to use POS 1.0, with access to the new POS 2.0 to follow once initial testing has been completed.
Two-Way SMS added to the Workshop Module
In response to popular demand, we're happy to announce the addition of two-way SMS messaging to the Workshop Module within our POS system. This enhancement simplifies communication between mechanics and customers, providing a convenient platform for quick responses.
Gift Voucher Styling Improved *Requested by users via our Feedback Forum*
In this release, you'll also find a redesigned look for gift vouchers. This represents the first step in our ongoing efforts to improve gift vouchers. Subsequent releases will introduce multiple templates and customisation options, allowing for greater personalisation.
Backoffice General
New Feature
- We have implemented default filtering in both the Advanced Item Search and Wizard Item Select views to display only active items. This enhancement aims to reduce the volume of data being retrieved, leading to improved system performance and speed. Should you still wish to view inactive items, a checkbox on the page will allow these to be viewed.
Improvements
- We've added a note to the receipt and label print queue to indicate the timezone of the log.
- A caching improvement has been implemented to optimise memory allocation.
- We've conducted code-base maintenance to remove unused fields.
- We've amended the commission price band set up to no longer allow 0 as a starting value.
Bug Fixes
- The Klarna validation check on the configuration page is now functional for non-UK groups.
- We've made improvements to the task that updates historic sales logs when an Item Lookup Code has been modified. This task will no longer experience timeouts.
Items
New Feature
- A warning will now appear on the item card if the cost exceeds the price. Additionally, item creation is now prevented when the cost exceeds the set price.
Bug Fixes
- Unlinking a Matrix parent item from SIM will now also unlink the child items.
- Special characters that could cause errors will now be removed from item notes.
- When an item has never been sold or received we indicate this by displaying the word “Never” rather than showing a default date value. When translated to German this was not the case, we have now fixed that.
- Duplicate reorder numbers can no longer be created due to the inclusion of a white space.
- Added verification to ensure that invalid characters in imported or pasted Item Lookup Codes and Reorder Numbers no longer cause errors.
Imports
New Feature
- We've added additional validation to the Item Import Tool to prevent items from being imported with a cost greater than the price.
Bug Fixes
- A validation issue in the Customer Import Tool has been resolved. The Customer Import Tool will now update existing customers without displaying an error stating that the customer already exists.
SIM
New Feature
- A new import status has been added to warn when an item imported from SIM has a higher cost compared to its price.
- We've made it easier to find the items that you want to import by adding a search bar to the SIM basket grid. You can search by Supplier Code, Name, Barcode and brand.
Stocktake
Improvements
- We've improved stocktake commit processing to reduce the time between loading data and committing it.
POS
Bug Fixes
- We have fixed a bug where an over-tendered deposit would show incorrectly in the manage deposit view.
Purchase Order
Improvements
- Background code improvements have been implemented to enhance maintainability and scalability.
Wizards
Improvements
- The price wizard will now warn when the cost exceeds the price of an item.
Bug Fixes
- The price change formula will now apply correctly when used in Spanish or German.
- An issue where the inclusion of the currency symbol in an import file caused incorrect costs has been resolved.
Workshop Module
Bug Fixes
- A job overdue by 1 day will now be correctly flagged as overdue.
- An issue causing the scheduler to incorrectly show the previous week when viewing from Australia, has been fixed.
