We are updating Cloud POS, here are the details of what to expect in this release:
Background Work for Cloud POS 2.0
The Cloud POS development team has been working tirelessly to build the foundations for a brand-new user interface (UI) for the POS. This has been the primary focus of their efforts over the course of the latest development cycle. They have been working on designing and implementing the core features that will make up Cloud POS 2.0 and are ensuring that the underlying architecture is robust and scalable.
Cloud POS 2.0 is expected to be released later this year and will be a significant improvement over the current POS UI. The development team has put a lot of thought and effort into creating a UI that is intuitive, user-friendly, visually appealing, and responsive to different screen sizes. Whilst there are no visible changes in this release, the team look forward to sharing the results of their hard work soon.
New API Endpoint for Purchase Order Creation
We have added an API endpoint for purchase order creation. This means that developers and other third-party software applications can now easily integrate with the Cloud POS purchase order system and create new purchase orders directly from their own software.
The API endpoint is designed to be simple and easy to use, with clear documentation to guide developers through the process. It allows for creating purchase orders with all the necessary fields and details, such as supplier information, items, quantities, and cost.
Workshop Booking Improvements Made for "Book My Bike In" Orders
We have listened to your feedback and created better controls for your available dates on Book My Bike In.
"Bookings Per Day" has been replaced with "Max Drop-Offs Per Day”. This limits the number of bookings that can be made with the same drop-off date. When the limit is reached, the date becomes unavailable on Book My Bike In.
You’ll also see:
- an indication of the increased lead time due to max drop-offs reached,
- a list of unavailable dates due to max drop-offs reached.
Improvements
- Search bar added to the Advanced Item Search. The search is configured to search the ItemLookupCode, Department, Category and Description fields. *Requested by users via our Feedback Forum*
- The customer account grace period is now listed on account statements. *Requested by users via our Feedback Forum*
- We have made improvements to balancing customer account payments:
- ad-hoc payments will now pay off the oldest receivable first,
- when paying off multiple specific receivables, the amounts paid will be correctly matched against the selected value,
- when a refund is made to a customer account, the refund will pay off the original transaction as a priority.
- $100 bill added to the US change calculator.
Bug Fixes
- Receipts will now only show the cashier's first name.
- We have fixed a bug that allowed for stock takes to be amended after they had been committed. This bug could be caused by having multiple tabs open for the same stock take or using the back button immediately after the commit. We have now added more checks on actions to ensure values can no longer be amended after committing.
- We have fixed an issue where Xero would reject batches if a Gift Voucher had been sold to a tax-exempt customer. This was caused by Xero not expecting the tax-exempt tax code to be set against a Gift Voucher sale. We have now adjusted how Cloud POS records this information to be in line with Xero.
- We have fixed a bug that could cause some transfers to time out.
